Organizing a “comprehensive” international conference on flexible and printed electronics (FPE) is highly desired, yet extremely difficult, since the FPE fields are still at early stage and have multidisciplinary features.
Various (academic) professional societies aim to organize international conferences and other activities; however, they are unable to share the information thoroughly.
The goal of this conference is to offer a common meeting ground -- a festival or world’s fair -- for all FPE-related research organizations and individuals who affiliate with different professional societies and/or organizations, and subsequently to accelerate the growth of these fields
In order to achieve this goal, ICFPE2012 is willing to adopt a very unique system and to develop the technical sessions: ICFPE2012 asks an essential group/person in the FPE field --- an academic society, a research group, or a volunteer --- to organize one full session (120 min). The session organizer does not need to bear the expenses. The session organizer will receive funds (150,000 yen at most) from the conference organizers (HQ). A 120-minute-session consists of 30 min invited talks and 15 min contributed talks. Session theme and the session program will be left to the organizer’s discretion.
